Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

Submissions to EducaFL are accepted on an ongoing basis. EducaFL is published twice each year in June and December. For consideration for publication in Issue 1, papers should be submitted by May 31. Submissions for Issue 2 should be received by October 31. Please submit the paper using the sample text shown in Educafl Template as the to prepare your paper and then complete the Cover Letter Form. Submit the Cover Letter as supplementary files.

Submissions that do not follow the guidelines and do not submit the cover letter may be rejected or returned to the author for revisions. Spelling, grammar, and any reference/citations should be carefully checked before submission. Manuscripts that require extensive correction will be rejected. 

Please keep the paper format as simple as possible. A properly formatted manuscript makes editing and layout easier and is much appreciated. 

Style Guidelines

The word limit does not include the abstract, reference section, or appendices.

Research: 5,000-7,000 words Conceptual/Teaching Practice: 3,500 words

Conceptual articles should include: (a) Title; (b) Full name of contributor(s) without title(s); (c) Abstract (max. 100 words); (d) Keywords; (e) Introduction; (f) Body text; and (g) References.

Research-based articles should contain: (a) Title; (b) Full name of contributor(s) without title(s); (c) Abstract (max. 200 words); (d) Keywords; (e) Introduction; (f) Method; (g) Findings and Discussion; (h) Conclusions and Suggestions; (i) References; and (j) Appendix, if any.

The first page of the paper should include the title (maximum 15 words), author name(s), institution, institution city and country, and institutional email address.

The paper should be preceded by an abstract of 200 words or less. The abstract should summarize the methodology and major claims or conclusions of the paper. It should not contain sentences that are identical to those in the body of the paper.

Papers should be in non-discriminatory language. Please also avoid the use of the first person (I, we, me, us, my, our) and second person (you, your, yours), except where appropriate.
